The Dalisdis, also known as the kulkul, symbolize beauty and prestige. They are worn by Kalinga, Gaddang, Madokaya, and Balangao indigenous women, and represent generations of tradition. This bead design originally adorned the tops of men's rattan hats, called cattangang. In the early 1900s, the cattangang went out of style, and the beads were repurposed into chokers and necklaces for women.
